Quit Giving Everyone the Wrong Impression

Gravity is a cruel master. While it does keep us from flying off into space, it wreaks havoc on our joints, spine, and the skin and muscle all over our body. Gravity, combined with the stresses of life and environmental damage, all work to make our skin droop and sag.

This is happening everywhere on our body, but on our forehead it can be especially evident. And, as if that weren’t enough, drooping brows can cause other people to totally misinterpret our moods, giving the impression of being perpetually tired or mad.

But leave the misinformation campaigns to the CIA and let Dr. Fedele perform a brow lift to counteract the sagging and return a semblance of youth to your forehead.

Since brow lifts target the upper third of the face, the procedure can be combined with other surgeries such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or a facelift to expand their scope.

Do you need a brow lift?

Most of Dr. Fedele’s brow lift patients are between the ages of 40 and 60 and feature lined or inelastic skin on their foreheads. There is a genetic tendency toward some of this sagging, plus it’s a fact of natural aging.

There is a simple way to see if a brow lift could benefit you. Stand in front of the mirror and place the palms of your hands to the sides of your eyes above the eyebrows. Now pull the skin back from the eyes. This raising of the forehead is what the brow lift will do.

The way to a younger-looking forehead

Dr. Fedele performs his brow lift procedures with the state-of-the-art endoscopic method. In an endoscopic brow lift, Dr. Fedele first makes from three to five short incisions, each less than one inch, behind the hairline. He then inserts an endoscope into one of the incisions. With the endoscope, he is able to see beneath the skin without making the long incision of the traditional brow lift, which requires an incision around the entire forehead. Through the other incisions he then lifts the skin, removes excess tissue, and adjusts muscles as needed.

Patients will have some numbness and discomfort at the incision sites for the first week. There will bruising and swelling around the eyes, but applying a cold compress and keeping your head elevated with diminish this.

If you find yourself being asked what you’re mad about even though nothing’s bothering you, it may be time to look in the mirror and consider a brow lift with Dr. Fedele. Call 216-464-1616 to schedule a consultation.
