More Junk In The Trunk

Not that long ago, Kate Moss was the world’s highest-paid supermodel. She adorned the pages of innumerable magazines with her emaciated, straight, curveless figure that looked as if she had eaten one or two rice cakes over the past week. Spawning a whole generation of anorexics, this was hardly the natural body most women had or wanted.

Today, things have come full circle. Rather than stick figures, the shapely Kate Upton occupies this year’s Sports Illustrated cover. The shape is in. Curvy figures are what everyone wants, and that’s a good thing because those are natural figures.

To that end, literally (SFX: RIMSHOT), is the trend for women to want to add some contour to their backsides, to put more “junk in the trunk” to quote current vernacular. Don’t believe it? You don’t have to go far to see the celebrated backsides of Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, and others.

If you want to add some curve yourself, Dr. Fedele performs the Brazilian Butt Lift.

What Is A Brazilian Butt Lift And How Is It Different From Butt Augmentation?

A Brazilian Butt Lift is a form of butt augmentation, but it differs dramatically from augmentation with implants. In a Brazilian Butt Lift, a patient’s fat is used for the augmentation. In implant augmentation, implants are surgically placed. In implant augmentation, the results are permanent, but sometimes implants can move and require revision surgery. Dr. Fedele only performs Brazilian Butt Lifts because he believes the results are far more natural looking than those achieved with implants.

How Is A Brazilian Butt Lift Performed?

The first step in your Brazilian Butt Lift with Dr. Fedele is to identify areas to harvest the unwanted fat. The best areas are the hips, flanks, lower back, and abdominal areas, as contouring these areas further accentuates your rounder bottom. Dr. Fedele then uses sterile, closed-system liposuction to remove the fat. Small incisions are made. Local anesthesia is infused first, and then a thin cannula is inserted and moved back and forth to loosen the fat pockets in the area. The cannula then suctions out the fat. Up to three times the amount of fat that will be re-injected may be harvested.

Next, the fat, tissue, and blood that were suctioned out are processed to separate and purify the fat. Dr. Fedele then re-injects the fat back into the buttocks through hundreds of tiny injections all over your buttocks. Dr. Fedele pays particular attention to the upper buttocks, so the entire area looks youthfully lifted.

How Long Do Results Take?

Results are immediately visible, but they keep improving with time because it takes some time for the fat to “take.” It can take a full year before a patient’s full results are visible. Over time, some of the initial volumes from your fat grafting procedure will diminish. On average, patients retain 60 to 80% of the transferred fat, with the body absorbing the rest.
