Breast Enhancement

In today’s Society, women can constantly feel the pressure of needing to look their best. Women can develop concerns over their self-image, feeling their breasts are not the right size or shape. Normally a woman’s breasts are fully developed by her twenties. She may have very small, underdeveloped breasts or very large breasts that cause back, neck, and shoulder discomfort. Other factors, such as pregnancy, nursing, weight loss, age, gravity, or even breast cancer, can take their toll on the appearance of a woman’s breasts, adding to the concern. Dr. Fedele performs cosmetic breast surgery that offers many options for these concerns, with procedures that can sculpt a woman’s breasts to a more becoming size and shape or restore a breast to a natural appearance after breast removal.

When Nature provides too little
Breast enlargement or Augmentation, can enhance and contour your breasts, giving you a shapelier figure and making you more confident in your appearance. Many women experience a decrease in their breast size and shape after pregnancy or with age. Breast augmentation using saline implants can increase your cup size while providing a fuller shape to the breast, giving you the look you desire in everyday clothes, dresses, or even bathing suits. Dr. Fedele can perform breast augmentation through a variety of approaches including endoscopic breast augmentation. If you have sagging breasts or “breast ptosis” from pregnancy, age, or gravity, a breast lift or “mastopexy” can lift your breasts into a more youthful position. If sagging breasts and loss of breast volume is your problem, a mastopexy with an augmentation using an implant can give you larger, firmer, and younger looking breasts.

When more is too much
Overly large breasts can be embarrassing and can lead to skin irritation with back, neck, and shoulder discomfort. Large breasts can make it hard for you to exercise or purchase clothes that fit properly, and can aggravate back pain. Breast reduction procedures remove excess breast tissue, skin and fat to reshape and lift your breasts. This can reduce the strain on your back and neck and may relieve the discomfort. Breast reduction surgery has a 98% patient satisfaction rate. This procedure can greatly benefit women of all ages by relieving discomfort and giving you breasts that are in better proportion to the rest of your body. Men can also develop breast tissue (known as Gynecomastia). This excess tissue can be removed at any age, giving way to a more sculpted, better-defined, more masculine chest.

Restoring a natural you after mastectomy
There are many options available to reconstruct your breast after breast removal surgery or “mastectomy.” Dr. Fedele is very aware that receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer is difficult and there are many decisions to be made regarding treatment and reconstruction. Dr. Fedele is uniquely qualified to perform every type of breast reconstruction technique available today and can help you sort through these options to choose the one that is right for you. Breast reconstruction can be performed immediately after mastectomy or years later. Using implants or your own lower abdominal tissue (known as a TRAM flap), your breast can be reconstructed to a natural appearance, renewing your self-image, and restoring balance to your body. All breast reconstructive procedures for the affected breast and the opposite breast are covered by health insurance plans by law.

At the Center for Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Fedele will discuss the surgical options that would best suit your individual needs. For a consultation on breast enhancement procedures, call us at (440) 951-4444.
