Liposuction 360 is a surgical procedure that uses a thin cannula to remove fat from around your midsection to restore a more sculpted and defined appearance. This procedure is a variation of the traditional liposuction procedure, but it circumferentially removes fat from around the midsection to achieve its comprehensive, natural-looking results.

Preparation

After scheduling your procedure, there are certain preparatory steps that you will need to take to ensure that you are ready. Dr. Fedele will provide you with preoperative instructions, which may include:

  • Managing Your Medications: Discontinue any medications or supplements that may thin your blood.
  • Arranging Transportation: You will need to have a trusted friend or relative drive you home after your procedure. 
  • Requesting Time Away: You will need to arrange time away from your career, commitments, and responsibilities to allow yourself to heal. 
  • Filling Your Prescriptions: Pick up any medications that you may need during your recovery beforehand. This ensures that you have them ready for when Dr. Fedele releases you.
  • Avoiding Alcohol: Avoid the consumption of any alcohol several days before and after your procedure. 
  • Stopping Any Nicotine: Cease any nicotine use at least four weeks before your scheduled procedure.

Procedure

Dr. Fedele performs each procedure on an outpatient basis at his surgical center. Liposuction 360 typically takes one to two hours to perform, but the exact length of your procedure will vary. To ensure your comfort, you will receive general anesthesia at the start of your procedure.

Dr. Fedele will then place several incisions around your fat deposits, in areas that will blend naturally with your body’s natural contours and creases. He will then inject the fat cells with a tumescent fluid. This solution will consist of lidocaine, epinephrine, and saline, which will further numb your tissues, lessen any bleeding, and firm your fat cells–making them easier to remove. (2)

Dr. Fedele will insert a thin cannula through your incisions and move it back and forth to break up your local fat deposits before suctioning them out. As he does this, he will focus on creating smooth, even, and symmetrical contours that flatter your natural figure. 

Dr. Fedele will repeat this process throughout the entirety of the treatment area until he achieves your desired results. He will carefully close each incision before dressing the area in a compression garment. His team will then transport you to our recovery suite to allow you to rest until they release you home. 

Recovery

After undergoing liposuction 360, it is common to experience some swelling, bruising, and tenderness around the treated area throughout the first few days of your recovery. These effects are temporary and will dissipate on their own, but you may also manage them with medications Dr. Fedele prescribes and plenty of rest. His team will also release you wearing a compression garment. You must continue to wear this as you heal, as this garment will prevent further swelling and preserve your new figure as your tissues settle. 

You will be able to return to light activities and desk work after resting for approximately one to two weeks. However, you will need to continue to avoid participating in any strenuous or vigorous activities until Dr. Fedele has cleared you to. He may also ask that you return for follow-up appointments to ensure your results are developing as expected.
