There are several simple non-invasive in-office procedures available to enhance your appearance. These quick and easy procedures can provide a temporary improvement in fine lines and unwanted folds of the face with little or no down time. Dr. Fedele uses Botox®, Collagen, and Restylane® to diminish fine lines giving you a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Botox® is a purified medical grade toxin that temporarily stops muscle action to prevent lines or wrinkles from forming. It is typically used to diminish those lines between the eyebrows, on the forehead, or the "crow's feet" lines around the eye. It usually lasts between two to four months.
Collagen is a natural protein that is found throughout the body. It can be injected into the skin to supplement your own body's Collagen, providing texture, resiliency, and shape. Zyplast® Collagen is obtained and purified from an animal source and thus requires a test dose to ensure you do not have a reaction. This "bovine" or cow collagen can last 2-4 months. A new product, CosmoDerm® Collagen is obtained from human tissue and does not require a test dose and may last a bit longer than the bovine Collagen.
Restylane® is a non-animal substance that was approved by the FDA in February of 2004. The filler substance is hyaluronic acid and it is a structure normally found throughout your body. Restylane has been used for over 7 years in more than 30 countries and has been injected into more than 1 million people throughout the world with little side effects. Since we started using Restylane in February we have had a very good response. It reportedly lasts for up to six to nine months, but many people are getting another injection in about 6 months. It's ideal for softening the lines that form between the nose and corner of the mouth (Nasolabial fold). We also use it for lip enhancement to give fuller more shapely lips.
These non-invasive procedures are performed in Dr. Fedele's office with little to no down time. Most people are back in the "public eye" immediately with only occasional faint bruising.
