Nose Reshaping

Everyone has their own idea of what is an attractive nose. For most, quite simply, it is a nose that fits their face. It is a natural looking nose that achieves a harmonious balance with your other facial features. If you feel that your nose is not a good fit for your face, you may benefit from cosmetic surgery of the nose, also called “Rhinoplasty.” Rhinoplasty can enhance the shape, size and general appearance of your nose. The “hump” on the bridge of the nose can be flattened. The tip can be shaped to be less “boxy” or bulbous. A long appearing nose can be shortened. A nose that is off-center or crooked from injury can be straightened. After surgery your nose will have a straighter bridge, a well defined tip and an improved angle between the nose and upper lip.

Breathing easier
Many people seek improvements in their nose for the outward appearance but often times the problem is inside the nose as well. Difficulty breathing through the nose can be a result of trauma or injury, or simply the way your nose developed naturally. The wall separating the two nasal passages called the septum can be deviated to one side or the other causing constriction of air flow. A Septoplasty can remove this bulging or deformed portion of cartilage and give you a straighter septum with no compromise in the air passage. In addition, a turbinectomy can also open the nasal air passages by reducing the turbinates, the internal projections that warm and moisturize the air that passes through the nose. The end result is better air flow and less difficulty breathing through your nose at night or during exercise.

A good balance
When we talk about achieving a balance to your face with rhinoplasty, sometimes this involves enhancing the chin. Some people who feel their nose is projecting too far out from their face may have a small or “weak” chin. When viewed from a profile the nose and chin are out of balance. Corrective rhinoplasty to enhance the nose may be combined with a chin augmentation with an implant. The result is a much stronger more balanced appearing profile.

How it looks on you
Regardless of the concerns you have and what you would like to have improved, you want to know how your new nose will look on your face. Dr. Fedele has advanced digital computer imaging that can take your digital image and show the changes step by step. You will see simulated before and after images of your nose with the changes. In this way Dr. Fedele can better explain the changes he feels will improve your appearance and you can voice your opinion as well. The consultation is much more interactive and you will come away with a better understanding of how Dr. Fedele would change your nose and how it will look on you.

Dr. Fedele will discuss the surgical options that would best suit your individual facial features. For more information or a consultation with Dr. Fedele about Nose Reshaping, call the Center for Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, Inc. at (440) 951-4444, or click below for a link to the ASPS web site:
